Letter submitted to Washington Post
online discussion with Frank K. Flinn (Unpublished)
(Frank K. Flinn testified
for Scientology as a religious expert in Scientology
v. Armstrong)
07-05-2005
Dear Mr. Flinn,
The Suppressive Person Defense League represents and defends
the class of people identified by Scientology as "Suppressive Persons"
or "SPs" pursuant to the organization's "Suppressive Person"
doctrine. http://www.suppressiveperson.org
As you know, Scientology's policy and practice for treatment
or handling of SPs is the infamous and judicially condemned "Fair Game"
law.
You have known about the "Suppressive Person"
doctrine at least since 1984 when you testified as follows in the Scientology
v. Armstrong trial in Los Angeles Superior Court: "the notion of Fair
Game -- it also included some rather stringent terminology, like one could
lie to a suppressive person or one could trick one." http://www.gerryarmstrong.org/50grand/legal/a1/rt-1984-06-01.html
You stated in this trial that you had never interviewed
a real victim of Scientology's "Suppressive Person" doctrine and
its Fair Game policy. Armstrong is undeniably an SP victim. He has made
himself available since 1984 and you still have never talked to him. You
have never contacted SPDL.
What exactly do you believe Scientology's SP doctrine is,
and why have you never spoken out for this organization's Suppressive Person
victims?
